Mark sheet sections

One of the first configuration tasks for a risr/ assess site in which OSCE items will be used is to define which mark sheet sections are needed. Mark sheet sections allow authors to conveniently group the different elements of the OSCE mark sheets to achieve a consistent visual appearance and examiner workflow. A common application of this could be to separate and group checklist/domain criteria, global judgement and examiner feedback fields into different areas of the mark sheet.

Section creation is a site-level operation but, once set up, the sections become available for authors to use during question authorship. Any global mark sheet criteria created at the site level will also need to be placed into appropriate mark sheet sections, so it's usually a good idea to set these up in the site as soon as possible.

Creating sections

Managing sections

It is possible to edit section titles or to make them inactive. This can be achieved by clicking the Edit button against the row

The desired changes can then be made in the popup window shown below.

Marking a section as "inactive" renders it unavailable for authors to use during mark sheet construction. It does not, however, remove the section from existing items in which it is being used.

To toggle between display and hiding of inactive sections, click the Show inactive sections column header.

The mark sheet view

The finished mark sheet view with embedded sections can be seen in the images below. Toggle to see the final rendered view in both assess for iPad and assess for browser applications.

Section visibility is dynamic, and so if no scoring instruments are placed into a section, that section will not be displayed on the mark sheet
