risr/assess supports on-platform exam marking. Site administrators can create user accounts for thier markers and assign them to mark individual exams. Markers can be assigned to specific item types: VSAQ, SAQ, MWQ, and PVSA

Marking types

There are two types of marking on risr/assess:

Script marking The candidates submit written responses to the questions and the markers award marks for each script submitted by a candidate. This is the type of marking used in the SAQ and MWQ item types.
Acceptable answer marking The item has a pre-populated list of acceptable answers. The markers review the list of submitted candidate responses, the marks that the platform has automatically awarded for the responses and determines whether any marks should be altered or whether any responses that don't feature in the list of acceptable answers should be worth marks. This type of marking is used in the VSAQ and PVSA item types.

Marker roles

Marker

Marks candidates' exam scripts (SAQs and MWQs) or the list of submitted responses (VSAQ and PVSA)
Senior marker Submits a mark for any criteria that fall outside the exam's allowed marking discrepancy. Applicable to multi-marked exams only.
Reviewer Views the submitted marks for an exam, but cannot make any changes to marks.
