Examiners can submit help requests to circuit marshals whilst the exam is in session. They can choose from a pre-defined list of help categories as follows:
- Tech issue
- Station equipment issue
- Candidate problem
- Other
This list is completely configurable. If you would like to change the options please get in touch via the service desk.
Submitting a help request
-
Step 1 of 5
Press the Request help button in the bottom-right of the app.
-
Step 2 of 5
Select a help category from the list.
-
Step 3 of 5
Once the request is submitted, the text in the bottom right will change to Requesting help to confirm that it has been sent to the marshal/coordinator.
-
Step 4 of 5
If you submitted the request in error or you have resolved it before the marshal arrives, then you can cancel the request by pressing the 'requesting help' button and then Cancel help request
-
Step 5 of 5
Once the marshal receives the request, they can acknowledge it on their interface. When they do, a notification will confirm that the request has been seen.
Managing help requests as a marshal
-
Step 1 of 4
If an examiner submits a help request, then the marshal will receive a notification in a red ribbon across the top of their interface. It will show the name of the examiner and the station they are examining. If multiple examiners submit help requests at once then these will all appear in the same ribbon separated by commas.
-
Step 2 of 4
Press on any of the round boxes on the landing page and this will take you through to the round's detail page which highlights the examiner in need in red. It will show you the help category they have selected.
-
Step 3 of 4
Press on the button that states the help request category (in this case 'candidate issue') which is located on the examiner row to acknowledge to the requester that you have seen it.
-
Step 4 of 4
Once the issue has been resolved, the marshal can press the help request button again to clear the request from their interface.
Help requests can also be monitored in the live exam dashboard. Please note, however, that acknowledgements cannot be returned to the examiner from this interface; that can only be done by a marshal.
